                    PROTEINS and PROTEIN SYNTHESIS

DNA has the master plan or program to make all the proteins in our body.  Proteins make up our muscles, hair, nails, and enzymes, which are special proteins that control 1000's of different reactions in and outside of the cells.

Proteins are made of special building blocks called AMINO ACIDS or AA.  There are only 20 AA but they can combine to produce all  of the thousands of proteins that we need to grow and live.

The production of proteins is called PROTEIN SYNTHESIS.  It begins in the nucleus and ends in the Ribosomes in the cytoplasm.  That's why ribosomes are called the "PROTEIN FACTORIES".

FANTASTICO  ISN'T IT!!!!
