Metric system is used by Scientists and most countries in the world. It is an easy system to use once you learn how. It is based on units of ten. Just think about adding or subtracting zeros or decimal places. One decimal place = one zero

LENGTH - is the distance from one point to another

VOLUME - is the amount of matter and space as an object takes up

MASS - is the amount of matter that an object is made of
So what is WEIGHT? The amount of gravitational pull or the force of gravity on an object. The greater the object the greater the gravitational pull.
Metric prefixes
* Kilo - one thousand, 1000
Ex: Kilometer
* Centi - one hundreth, 1/100
Ex: Centimeter
* Milli - one thousandth, 1/1000
Ex: Milliliter
* Micro - one millionth, 1/1,000,000
Ex: Micrometer
* Nano - one billionth, 1/1,000,000,000
Ex: Nanometer
